ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer with strong React Native experience to take the lead on developing cross-platform applications within the Hut 8 ecosystem.

In this role, you will be responsible for building mobile applications while also contributing to web-based frontends using React.

This position demands an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to balance mobile and web development tasks effectively.

You will be part of a small, dynamic team, giving you a high level of autonomy and ownership. You will need to make critical decisions about the tech stack, app architecture, and best practices that will shape how we build mobile and web experiences for both our employees and clients.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following :

• Lead the design and development of mobile applications using React Native to create seamless, performant user experiences across both iOS and Android.
• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React, ensuring consistency and integration across platforms.
• Collaborate closely with product designers, backend engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive and scalable mobile and web applications.
• Ensure mobile apps are performant, secure, and optimized for a wide range of devices and operating systems.
• Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to ensure code quality and team collaboration.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to streamline development across products.
• Take ownership of your projects, from architecture decisions to deployment and monitoring, while adhering to project timelines.
• Optimize and debug applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with significant experience in mobile application development using React Native.
• Expertise in :
• React Native and mobile app development (iOS and Android).
• React, JavaScript, and modern frontend development tools.
• Translating design mockups from tools like Figma into functional mobile and web applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to debug and optimize mobile and web applications.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.
• Familiarity with mobile development pipelines (App Store, Google Play) and performance optimization techniques.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.

NICE TO HAVES :

• Experience working in startup environments or agile teams.
• A strong portfolio of published mobile applications.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or Bitcoin mining.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools for mobile and web.
