Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Completes binders and / or policy or endorsement requests within three days of date quoted to client.
  • Maintains a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
  • Maintains timely and thorough customer and carrier interactions to minimize the potential for errors and omissions claims; follow agency E&O guidelines.
  • Follows up on photo requests and requests for additional information.
  • Handles routine correspondence between carriers, agency and insured.
  • Receives phone calls requesting changes to existing coverage and / or new policies; completes changes / requests within 24 hours; refers any new business applications to Insurance Agent staff.
  • Receives and reviews all terminations and cancellations to determine appropriate action within 72 hours of receipt.
  • Handles premium collection through form letters and requests cancellation of policies when necessary.
  • Solicits new business opportunities with clients for lines of coverage not currently written by the agency and refers to Insurance Agent for cross sell; actively solicits increases in limits and / or coverages.
  • Actively seeks referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects.
  • Documents all material conversations with insureds and / or carriers regarding exposures and coverages.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all rating products and processes.
  • Participates in training and development opportunities to enhance industry knowledge and skills.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned; performs special projects at management's request.

    • Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented, well organized and strong time management.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced and complex business environment.
  • Ability to work in a general office environment; flexible to shift resources and priorities as required.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members, both internal and external.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for moderate periods and use a computer.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 5 pounds, with occasional ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds.

    • Education and Background

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 1-year previous insurance customer service experience required, or equivalent financial services / credit union experience.
  • NC Property & Casualty insurance license required.
  • Vertafore AMS360 agency management system experience preferred.
