Job Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services) is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Staff to design and complete modifications on various military ground and maritime platforms in support of our Special Operations Forces Support Activity (SOFSA) Program in Lexington, KY.
This program is critical to the success of US service members deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment anywhere in the world.
While the primary focus of this position is on ground and maritime vehicles, support may also be required on other vehicles / aircraft platforms supported by the contract.
Scope generally involves modification and component integration (primarily electrical and mechanical) into various platforms based on customer specifications.
This position will be responsible for :
- Collaborating with chief engineers, project engineers, and systems and design teams to ensure systems meet the customer needs and the resulting products operate as intended.
- Analyzing customer requirements to determine electrical scope, and contribute to formulating the overall engineering solution, Basis of Estimate (BOE), and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Organizing and overseeing development of design, generate reports and reviews, and lead the electrical design team during design review briefs
- Development of schematics, cable routing and terminations, removal of existing components, and installation of new systems to ensure product will meet requirements;
including radios, antennas, transmitters, lasers, power equipment, servers systems and components, etc.
- Evaluate and approve engineering releases and changes.

Desired skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, E3 Zuken, Dassault Cameo, Solidworks, CATIA v5
- System Architecture experience
- Knowledge of RF Systems
- Knowledge of printed circuit board design and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of typical protocols used with chips / EEPROMS to include start / stop / parity bits / baud rates, formats, MSB / LSB
- Familiarity with unmanned systems (any domain)
- Familiarity with vehicle electric and electronic systems
- Familiarity with autonomous systems
- Familiarity with maritime environments
- Familiarity of qual testing EMI / EMC MIL-STD testing
- Familiarity of DOD Acquisition process
- Previous experience on military vehicles / platforms
