Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location : Fort Mohave, AZ

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner Medical Center's PACU in Fort Mohave, AZ.

This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia, contributing to their comfort and well-being during the crucial post-operative phase.

Responsibilities :

• Patient Care : Promote and restore patient health by performing assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for pre-and post-operative patients recovering from various anesthesia types.
• Interventions : Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform clinical treatments as part of the patient's care plan.
• Monitoring : Closely monitor and record patient vital signs and condition as they emerge from anesthesia. Communicate any changes to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assistance with ADLs : Aid patients in performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaboration : Work collaboratively across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and addressing spiritual / psychosocial support needs.
• Patient Education : Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive education.

Conduct discharge phone calls.

Patient Advocacy : Act as a patient advocate, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Qualifications : Education :

Education :

• Required : Associate Degree in Nursing
• Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Licensure :

Valid registered nurse license in the State of Arizona or a valid multistate license from a recognized compact state acceptable to Arizona.

Certifications :

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - American Heart Association
• ASPAN (American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses) certification is preferred.
• If not already certified in ACLS and / or PALS through AHA, must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• NIH stroke scale completed within 90 days of hire
• EKG exam at the time of hire

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
