Travel Nurse RN - OR - $2,694 per week in Columbus, OH

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour (06 : 45 - 17 : 15)

Job Summary : As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality preoperative care, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and maintain a sterile environment.

Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating successful surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

• Preoperative Assessment : Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to ensure patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or medical history issues.
• Surgical Assistance : Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing necessary equipment and supplies.
• Patient Advocacy : Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing any concerns or changes in the patient's condition promptly.
• Sterile Technique : Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Patient Education : Provide patients and their families with preoperative and postoperative education to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans.
• Documentation : Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Team Collaboration : Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures.
• Emergency Response : Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, including code situations, while maintaining composure and following established protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance : Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies promptly.

Qualifications :

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing or operating room setting
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
