Palliative Billing Coordinator

About the Role :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Billing Coordinator to join our growing Palliative Care team. This in-office position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for palliative care services, supporting both our patients and care providers.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of medical billing (especially Medicare / Medicaid and private insurance), excellent communication skills, and a deep respect for the sensitive nature of palliative care.

Key Responsibilities :

Process and submit medical claims for palliative care services in a timely and accurate manner

Review claims for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with insurance guidelines

Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims

Communicate with providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing issues

Maintain accurate billing records and documentation

Stay current with changes in billing regulations and coding requirements specific to palliative care

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support seamless care delivery

Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred)

2+ years of medical billing experience (experience in hospice or palliative care billing strongly preferred)

Solid understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing procedures

Proficiency with billing software and electronic health records (EHR)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive patient matters
