Job Description

The Enrollment Coordinator, NYC Enrollment, is ideally a fluent Spanish speaker who reports to the Manager of Enrollments.

This role will entail communications with prospective families as well as administrative duties. Their main work streams will include conducting outreach calls to Spanish-speaking families, answering and responding to emails received on the enrollment phone line and email inbox, and maintaining the enrollment systems SchoolMint and Salesforce.

Providing support at community events will be required.

Lead Call Conversion : Conduct outreach calls to all assigned leads obtained through digital marketing and maintain a 30% lead-to-application conversion rate :

  • Speaks knowledgeably to prospective families about Uncommon's history, schools, and curriculum
  • Provide families with resources that will guide them in making a decision to apply to Uncommon Schools NYC
  • Follow up with families in a timely manner
  • Utilize the Salesforce CRM to update and maintain lead records
  • Document detailed notes in the Salesforce CRM to keep a record of all communications to prospective families
  • Assist families in submitting applications in SchoolMint
  • Assist families in scheduling a school tour
  • Act as a liaison between prospective families and office managers

Communications : The first point of contact for all enrollment and prospective family inquiries communicated through the enrollment main line and email inbox :

  • Answer all incoming calls received on the enrollment mainline
  • Follow up with missed calls and voicemails
  • Review and respond to enrollment emails within 24 hours of receiving
  • Send email communications to prospective families with appropriate resources and the next steps attached

System Maintenance : Maintain and organize the enrollment systems Salesforce and SchoolMint to ensure quality, compliance and readiness for lottery day :

  • Salesforce : Work on small projects such as record deduplication, logging overdue call notes & converting leads into contacts
  • SchoolMint : Review applications in SchoolMint
  • Enrollment Registration Support : Support the OTMs in assisting families who need help with completing registration
  • Contact families in the conversion process to support them in completing their registration through SchoolMint
  • Make offers to prospective families with the guidance of the Manager of Enrollment

Community Engagement Support : Attend community events hosted by the NYC Enrollment and External Affairs team :

  • Support with setting up and breaking down events
  • Support in collecting on-the spot applications
  • Support with obtaining referrals from current families
  • Translation Support : Provide support in translating verbal and written communications into Spanish
  • Support with the translation of enrollment marketing materials as needed
  • Support enrollment and school ops teams in communicating to Spanish speaking families

Additional duties and projects as needed and assigned in support of NYC schools

Qualifications

Education Requirements :

Associates Degree

Experience Requirements :

  • 2 years of professional experience
  • 2 year customer service / sales
  • 1 administrative / clerical work
  • 1 year call center - preferred
  • Outlook, Excel, Google Drive, SchoolMint, and Salesforce

Travel / Schedule :

  • Will work in person in our NYC regional office in Brooklyn 4 days a week 1, day remote -with some evenings and weekends to service our families and or events.
  • Local travel between schools and community-based organizations and events within Brooklyn and NYC.

Compensation for this position : Candidates who meet all job description requirements will likely receive an hourly offer of $21.

63. The starting compensation for this role is between $21.63 to $27.40. The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.

To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience beyond the job description requirements.

Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
