Job Opportunity : Full-Time School Social Worker (Contract)
Location : Thornton, Colorado
Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced School Social Workers for a full-time contract position in Thornton, Colorado.
We are seeking compassionate professionals who meet all local and state regulations and have a passion for working with special education students and their families.
Requirements :
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or certification as a School Social Worker in Colorado, ensuring compliance with all local and state regulations.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience working as a Social Worker in an educational setting, with a focus on special education.
Job Duties :
- Provide direct social work services to students with diverse needs, including assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community agencies to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs and promote their academic success.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and social-emotional needs, and develop and implement individualized intervention plans.
- Facilitate social skills groups and other therapeutic interventions to support students' social-emotional development and interpersonal skills.
- Advocate for students and families to access necessary resources and support services both within the school and in the community.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights and recommendations for students' educational plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families experiencing emergencies or significant life challenges.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
