Position Overview :
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of our power utility services, ensuring efficient and reliable energy distribution across our network.
This role involves managing a team of professionals, coordinating with internal departments, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record of optimizing utility operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily operations of power distribution systems to ensure continuous, reliable energy delivery.
- Lead and manage a team of operations professionals, including engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, performance management, and development opportunities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments (e.g., Engineering, Maintenance, Customer Service) to optimize operational processes and resolve issues.
- Implement and monitor strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and optimizing resource use.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards for safety and operational performance.
- Analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Develop and manage budgets for the operations department, ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
- Lead efforts to improve reliability, safety, and sustainability in energy distribution operations.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and lead initiatives to enhance the resilience of the utility’s infrastructure.
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in utility operations, power distribution, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, grid operations, and industry regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
- Proven ability to implement operational improvements and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to drive operational decisions.
- Familiarity with industry software and tools related to power utility management is a plus.
