- Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered personally or by those under their direction.- Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills for appropriate patient care.
- Assess patient needs, including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning.
- Review patient history and physical with patient / family for timely completion.- Review diagnostics and lab data, reporting abnormal results to the physician and appropriate caregivers.
- Complete assessments and reassessments as per patient needs and policy.- Formulate a comprehensive plan of care, including discharge plans, using assessment data and inputs from patients, families, and health teams.
- Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, and supervision of the healthcare team.- Ensure continuity of care by accurately communicating patient status to other caregivers.
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and modify care plans as necessary.- Participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes.
- Engage in professional growth through education, mentoring, and participation in professional organizations.- Perform all duties according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent service experiences consistently, exhibiting core and leadership behaviors. Physical Demands / Environment Factors : - Work in a direct patient care environment.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch.- Possess physical agility and reaction time for unexpected patient care needs.
- Maintain adequate hearing, visual acuity, color vision, fine motor skills, and eye-hand coordination.- Use proper body mechanics for patient mobility assistance.
- Potentially lift up to 75 pounds.- Use standard precautions against exposure to blood and bodily fluids.- Communicate effectively in person or via telephone.
