Salary : JOB SUMMARY :
Through cooperation and partnership with the Operations
team, the Technical Writer will be responsible for
developing, editing, and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will be used to train production employees for optimal performance in daily tasks. Individual
will collaborate on a team, and participate
in the onboarding, training and certification process of new employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Collect critical information pertaining to
optimal functionality of equipment
Generate work instructions, in the format of 9-Panel Power Point Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Participate in the Continuous Skills Development (CSD) Bridge to better understand training, and current training prioritiesCollaborate with cross functional departments to ensure all procedures generated fall within the guidelines of our safety, engineering, quality, and food safety programsWork directly with the Performance Based Trainer (PBT) to synchronize the development of training plans with SOPsProvide weekly progress updates to a cross functional team of stakeholdersReview and / or copyedit content developed by other members of the teamMeet with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
BS in Engineering or equivalent with experience working inmanufacturing preferred
Ability to think critically and generate innovative solutions to complex problemsAnalytical and conceptual problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze machine operations and recommend or implement solutionsBasic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety / food defense programs preferredMust be detail and process orientatedVery strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to train and communicate in a variety of styles and in a culturally diverse workforceAbility to demonstrate humility by asking questions and involving peersAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environmentExperience working with common office softwareFluency in the English language; Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Arabic a plusWORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL FACTORS :
Position requires standing, repetitive movement, bending and twisting, and using hands to handle objects; exposure to sustained noise levels; exposure to a variety of food allergens; working in very hot temperatures; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders and powered industrial vehicles. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).Ability to stand for 85-90% of shift, sometimes up to 10 hours.Must be able to work in an environment containing allergens, such as gluten, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and milk.Must be able to ascend and descend stairways, ladders, and ramps.Must be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and some holidaysOther Duties as Assigned
