Accounting Clerk

Onsite in San Mateo, CA

$30 / HR- DOE

Monday-Friday 8 : 30AM-4 : 30PM

Job description :

The Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data by handling various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

This role involves handling day-to-day transactions, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring timely execution of accounting processes.

Main responsibilities and tasks :

  • Accounts Payable (AP) :
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Verify accuracy of invoices.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) :
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices.
  • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and address billing inquiries.
  • General Ledger Management :
  • Record journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement :
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills :

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP / IFRS).
  • Knowledge of tax regulations. #CB #p1
