Position Title : Project Management Office Project Manager 2
Business Unit : Finance
Reports to : Director of Project Management Office
Position Overview :
This position is primarily responsible for the start to finish delivery of business solutions to the business units. The incumbent is a hands-on expert in project planning and execution including scope definition and management, task and resource scheduling, cost and price budgeting, quality review and assurance, client relationship management, project team management and overall change management and holds full accountability for the on-time and on-budget delivery of solutions per the approved specifications.
Primary Responsibilities :
Manages large complex enterprise-wide projects with deliverables that span the entire organization often with direct accountability to senior management.
Leads and works with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization including IT and the business units.
Prepares materials and trains project team members in the use of project management process and tools.
Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule to include milestones, tasks and target and actual dates of completion.
Revises project plans and schedules as needed as a result of approved changed requests. Prepares and submits project status reports to management and conducts regularly scheduled project status update meetings.
Facilitates the project change management process.
Understands competing priorities shaping the relationship between the requirements of the PMO and the project teams it coordinates.
Communicates with all areas affected by the project to include internal subject matter experts and external corporate departments.
Effectively delivers work products in a matrix environment. Influences and effectively progresses specific project related issues.
Acts as RFP Manager on assigned large complex RFP's. Responsible for overseeing the development of RFP requirements, communications, or other documents associated with the RFP.
Manages RFP from creation, execution, vendor selection, contract negotiation and signing. Prepares materials and trains RFP team members in the use of the RFP management process and tools.
Has a strong understanding of Organizational Change Management. Manages assigned process improvement and / or organizational change projects.
Works with Lines of Business to develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of required changes.
Effectively chairs team meetings, subcommittees and taskforces of project teams. Facilitates and participates in technical and business discussions, requirements clarification sessions, etc.
as required. Presents to Executive Level Management, Examiners and Board of Directors on project status, issues and risks as required.
Develops and documents corporate specific best practices for RFP and project delivery methodologies and project / RFP management.
Participates in the hiring of staff members.
Mentors staff and the corporation in project management best practices. Participates in the implementation of project management tool implementations and enhancements.
Possesses an expert understanding of all the main areas of project management, vendor management, program management and portfolio management.
Manages assigned projects and associated vendors throughout the project / RFP lifecycle including scope, schedule, issues, risks, communications, reporting and changes.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
