Director of Information Technology

LOCATION : New Orleans, LA

POSITION LOCATION : Onsite 3-5 days per week in New Orleans, LA

JOB TYPE : Direct hire

SALARY : Depending on Experience - Full package includes competitive base salary, and employee benefits.

OVERVIEW

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Director of IT for a direct hire position in New Orleans, LA. This strategic leadership role is critical in driving the company's technology transformation, overseeing vendor management, and integrating IT systems to support both organic growth and acquisitions.

The Director of IT will focus on modernizing the company's infrastructure, ensuring strong data and analytics capabilities, and streamlining processes for operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing IT functions in mid- to large-sized organizations, with a strong background in vendor management, project execution, and IT integration for acquisitions.

Expertise in ERP systems, cloud technologies, and data-driven decision-making is essential. Candidates should have a proven ability to lead through others, work across multiple locations, and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.

Strong project management skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to prioritize and execute strategic IT initiatives are crucial for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Development & Process Optimization : Develop in-house IT capabilities while professionalizing infrastructure and processes to support growth, both organic and via acquisitions.

Ensure the company is equipped with IT services that align with its business needs.

Vendor & Partner Management : Manage key third-party vendors and partners to augment internal skills and capacity. Allocate responsibilities between internal and external teams to optimize performance.

Accountability through vendor management and leading through others is essential.

M&A Integration : Lead IT due diligence for potential acquisitions and execute the integration of acquired companies into the existing IT infrastructure.

Standardize and streamline processes post-integration.

  • Data & Analytics : Manage the company's data warehouse and ensure the availability of high-quality, actionable data. Implement strong metrics and analytics capabilities to support informed decision-making and operational insights for business stakeholders.
  • Cost Management : Implement responsible cost management strategies to optimize IT expenses without compromising the quality of IT services or business operations.
  • Service Delivery & Support : Oversee the development of a service desk and support capability that can scale across multiple locations.

Implement best practices for IT service management and cybersecurity to protect and support the business.

Project Management : Ensure disciplined project management for the integration of acquisitions and continuous improvements in IT services.

Develop and execute plans, assess priorities, and handle intake items efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in mid- to large-sized, process-driven B2B companies with growth profiles.
  • Strong background in managing IT services in multi-location businesses, with experience in both vendor management and leading internal teams.
  • Expertise in IT integration activities, particularly in M&A contexts, and a track record of handling complex integrations.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and familiarity with field service business processes.
  • Proficient in using data to drive business value; understanding how to equip stakeholders with analytics for informed decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud technologies, remote cloud environments, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage IT services in distributed environments, with familiarity with ITIL frameworks and IT service management.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute on strategic IT initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Note on Location :

While the preference is for candidates who are based in or near New Orleans, LA, we will also consider candidates within Louisiana (e.

g., Baton Rouge) who are able to travel to New Orleans two days per week. Candidates outside Louisiana may also be considered if they are willing to travel onsite regularly.

This structure is intended to foster close collaboration with the team and support the company's strategic IT initiatives.

In our commitment to transparency throughout the hiring process, we provide a target annual base salary range of $140,000 - $170,000 + bonus for this position.

The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) experience, work location, and skills.

Additionally, this position is eligible for comprehensive benefits provided by the hiring employer.
