Pay Rate : $21.47 / hr

Position Summary : The Reference Librarian participates in reference services, creating tutorials, library instruction, and other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Instruction Coordinator and Reference Librarian.

Work Hours : The Reference Librarian provides evening and weekend reference desk coverage, scheduled 30 hours per week and will be assigned hours during the window of 2 : 00 pm - 8 : 00 pm, Monday - Thursday, and 10 : 00 am - 2 : 00 pm Saturdays.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• 65% Provide individual reference service and group information literacy instruction, both in-person and online. Reference services are available in-person and via phone, email, text, chat, and appointment. In support of instruction services, collaborate with the Instruction Coordinator and Reference Librarian on various projects to support the library instruction program.
• 30% Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of the library's web services, including the LibGuides, FAQs, and online tutorials, using various applications, including LibApps, PowerPoint, Camtasia, Snagit, Zoom, and related software. Seek out and implement appropriate emerging technologies.
• 5% Maintain knowledge of current professional library practices, including reference interviewing and teaching practices. May be involved with collection development activities.
