Saint Clement Roman Catholic Parish is a vibrant, engaged, and inclusive parish in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, recognized for a high level of community involvement, dynamic ministries, and remarkable music and liturgy.
Saint Clement seeks a Director of Music Ministry who will serve as a member of our collaborative pastoral team and promote an inspiring music ministry consisting of robust and participatory music within the spirit of the Second Vatican Council.
We seek a person of broad musical vision who has demonstrated success, experience, and training in liturgical and sacred music as well as strong interpersonal and pastoral skills.
The Director of Music Ministry will lead a unified music program that responds to the various age groups and pastoral needs of our parishioners.
The Director will possess superb choral skills and will continue the long-standing and renowned excellence of our choirs while developing current and future ensembles into spirited groups who serve the entire parish community.
The director will be well-versed in numerous styles of music, from chant and renaissance polyphony through the finest contemporary repertoire.
The Director of Music Ministry will be an excellent organist who is capable of inspiring the parish community through service playing, repertoire, and improvisation.
The Director is ultimately responsible for the development, expansion, and integration of all music at Saint Clement Church as well as the pastoral and administrative oversight of assisting staff musicians.
Minimum Requirements : Master’s degree in music and proven experience and success in leading a music program comparable to Saint Clement.
