The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals.

AIG’s Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance.

Analytics Innovation :

We are a focused team within AIG extracting insights from data to enable better decision-making, provide better service and experience, and drive business growth.

The team leverages latest technologies and approaches to solve business problems, optimize processes and improve organizational performance.

How you will create an impact

  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with product managers, senior business leaders, data / analytics / ML engineers and software developers to identify, deploy and monitor impactful data science solutions.
  • Project Management : Prioritize, plan and drive development and successful deployment of data science projects from identification of use cases to implementation of models.

Define and monitor KPIs to continually measure outcomes and model performance.

Technical Leadership : Provide leadership and guidance to engineering, data science and software development teams, promoting collaboration and an inclusive culture.

Define and promote performance and ethical best practices in deploying and monitoring data science capabilities at scale.

Guide and provide mentorship to a Center of Excellence data science team.

Advancing Capabilities : Develop internal assets, source external solution providers, and create partnerships that mature advanced analytics tools and methods to deliver actionable insights.

Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques and evaluate and guide fit with organizational technical architecture, capabilities, and strategy.

Model Governance : Collaborate with privacy, legal and regulatory teams to develop, establish and ensure compliance in the ethical use of data science models.

Define, document, and enforce best practices for model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.

What you will need to succeed

  • 15+ years in data science
  • 10+ years in financial services, insurance, consulting or similar industries
  • 8+ years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Master’s or PhD in quantitative / statistical or similar discipline
  • Expertise in data analysis, deep / machine learning, and statistical modeling
  • Expertise in cloud-based cognitive services
  • Expertise in developing and deploying end-to-end AI / ML solutions
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, AWS SageMaker or others with AI / ML and cognitive services from a cloud provider
  • Experience with NLP / NLU / Generative / Conversational AI technologies and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or Java and relevant frameworks and libraries
  • Strong data manipulation abilities using for example Pandas, NumPy and SQL
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
  • Ability to conceptualize and deploy complex machine analytic and learning models using Agile methods as well as in collaboration in a highly matrix organizational structure
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record delivering at speed and scale impactful data science solutions on time and within budget
  • Expertise in C-suite level communicate skills (written and verbal) to convey thought leadership for data science concepts and influence senior leadership (L3 / L2) executives
  • Ability to lead multiple project / initiative teams concurrently in design, development, and deployment efforts
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in management and leadership including direct management of small to mid-size employees teams and / or contractors
  • Experience in providing technical guidance and coaching to develop junior team members
  • Ability to travel as needed
