We are in search of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (NP)) who will work serve as a vital team member of our team in our walk-in clinic, Think Quick.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess the medical, physical, social and psychological status of patients by obtaining a comprehensive problem-oriented health history, performing a physical examination of appropriate complexity, and ordering and evaluating laboratory, and other diagnostic studies as medically indicated.
- Performs tests (e.g. throat cultures) as outlined in the treatment pathways or as deemed appropriate by the supervising physician.
- Interprets available data in order to establish a preliminary diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. Consults as needed with collaborating physician regarding abnormal results, or when medical problem is beyond the scope of his / her training.
Provides appropriate referrals to clinic physicians and consulting physicians.
- Orders and / or administers injections and immunizations. Writes prescriptions for controlled and non-controlled medications based on treatment protocols.
- Maintains comprehensive and complete medical records, assuring the records are accurate and current. Clearly documents all orders and signs all entries.
Provides complete and appropriate information for billing purposes.
Within the scope of practice, will instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment. Provides appropriate patient education and counseling as to health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
Assists patients and care givers in identifying and utilizing community and other resources which will meet patient and family needs and lead to optimum health.
Qualifications :
- 1-2 years of experience as a PA-C or NP in a Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care setting working with adult patients
- Graduate of a PA or NP accredited program
- Current unrestricted license to practice as a PA or NP in Nebraska
- Current BLS Certification
Skills :
- Applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide on-going care
- Taking medical histories, assessing medical conditions, and interpreting findings
- Preparing and maintaining electronic health record with all encounters completed at the end of the workday
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their families, physicians, staff and the public.
- Ability to use a personal computer. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient computer skills and experience to be able to document in an electronic medical record, ideally Allscripts
- Perform a complete, appropriate and thorough physical examination
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with physicians, patients and staff
- Interpret and utilize lab data and other information to develop a plan of care
- Understand the limits of their education and experience, always practicing within their scope of practice
