We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to plan and execute a variety of events catered to entrepreneurs, the space industry, and workforce development.
You will be responsible for overseeing events such as ActivateNM's Startup Fiesta, Space Fiesta, Ski Lift Pitch, Adventure Pitch, the Hyperspace Challenge Annual Summit, and other events for CNM Ingenuity.
Strong project management and organizational skills are crucial in this role as you will manage event logistics such as venue selection, vendor coordination, sponsorship efforts, marketing, and on-site execution.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication abilities and an eye for detail to ensure successful event delivery.
Prior experience producing engaging corporate or industry events is a plus. This is an opportunity to plan innovative gatherings that connect professionals in the entrepreneurship and space fields.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines is essential. Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained;
ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Provides support to departments, divisions and community.
- Plans and coordinates all aspects of an event; handles event logistics; and carries out event.
- May oversee event budget and / or revenue generation.
- Identifies, coordinates and schedules on and off campus events.
- Participates in marketing and promotion for College activities and events .
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with students, staff, faculty and vendors; and negotiations pricing of good and services with vendors.
- Represents the College at community functions and events; and participates on committees.
- Leads and directs the work of volunteers and / or Event representatives.
- May include website management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience
- Associate's Degree and five (5) years of experience
- High School Diploma and seven (7) years of experience
Preferences :
- Supervisory experience
- Previous success working in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Familiar with outreach initiatives to diverse populations
- Skilled in managing budgets and / or grants
- Background in community partnerships and collaborations
