What you’ll do
- Perform unit tests and analyze operating data to improve profitability.
- Assist staff engineers with designs of less complex equipment such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, etc.
- Provide operating data for planning, operations improvement, economic evaluations, etc.
- Assist staff engineers with troubleshooting to determine causes and solutions to operating problems.
- Maintain and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for the process units.
Who you are
- Available to begin work on January 6, 2025
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- As this position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, a valid US Driver's License is required.
- Previous experience is considered an asset.
- Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering
- Preference will be given to students in 3rd or 4th year.
- Currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
- Candidates currently enrolled in either a master’s or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
- Strong academic performance
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester.
- Attached copies of transcripts
- New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
Working Conditions
May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
Safety Sensitive
This is a safety sensitive role and as such you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours.
Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug / alcohol assessment requirements.
Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle. A valid US Driver’s License with no restrictions is a requirement for this role.
