We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist in the transport industry, based in Norfolk, Virginia.
The role involves overseeing all aspects of a comprehensive employee benefits program, including health and welfare benefits, and employee pension and retirement savings plans.
Responsibilities :
- Administer health insurance plans, life insurance, COBRA, EAP, and voluntary plans, ensuring accurate record-keeping and appropriate deductions.
- Coordinate annual projects such as Total Compensation Statements, census reporting, and audits.
- Assist in the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, reviewing and updating the HRIS system with new rates and benefits when necessary.
- Oversee retirement savings plans and pension, ensuring accurate and timely processing of participant payments.
- Maintain benefits and HIPAA records, including enrollments, applications, and other applicable documents.
- Manage the Affordable Care Act process and compliance, auditing Forms 1094 and 1095 to meet IRS distribution and filing deadlines.
- Act as an escalation point for more complex benefit plan issues.
- Assist in the management of leave programs.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Handle miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the transport industry
- Proficiency in the use of Cisco Webex Meetings for effective remote communication
- Demonstrable experience with CRM systems for customer relationship management
- Strong auditing skills with a focus on accuracy and detail
- In-depth understanding of benefit functions and claim administration
- Experience with Cobra Administration
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to coordinate benefits and ensure smooth operation
- Knowledge and experience in compensation and benefits management
- Strong skills in contract negotiation
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of health insurance policies and management
