Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities :
The Assistant Dean reports directly to the Dean of the Roc NationSchool of Music, Sports & Entertainment and is responsible for the overalldevelopment and operation of the educational programs in the School, personnelmanagement, faculty recruitment, and day-to-day affairs of the Roc NationSchool, inclusive of the Music and Sports Departments.
The Assistant Deancoordinates activities with the Dean to achieve the education and communityservice missions of the School.
Principal Responsibilities :
- Provides academic leadership and oversight for undergraduate andgraduate programs.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the School.
- Plans with the faculty and appropriate committees for studentadmission, progression, retention, and advisement activities related to theundergraduate and graduate programs, both incoming and continuing.
- Assists the Dean in the recruitment and selection of faculty andstaff.
- Advises and counsels students
- Mediates problems between students and faculty.
- Assumes responsibilities of the School in Dean’s absence.
- Special projects as defined by the Dean.
Education Requirements :
Terminal degree
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience :
- Three to five years of related professional experience in a higherdegree program (administrative and teaching).
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Expertise in writing grant proposals and / or conducting research.
- Workingknowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Canva, Zoom, andother necessary technologies.
