Position Overview
The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, support, guidance, and monitoring of design, coding, and best practices across development teams.
The position’s focus is on driving the continuous improvement of key software components and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist teams with design, code quality, and best practices
- Assist teams with planning for technical debt retirement
- Provide knowledge and expertise in planning sessions
- Support key software components not assigned to teams
- Identify potential long term problems brought about by changes
- Be a key contributor to setting coding standards and procedures
- Demonstrate proven behavioral skills, including being a team player, sound thinking and judgment, achieving results, relating to people, managing work effectively, and leading by example
- Conduct training sessions that promote DigiKey IT best practices
