Participates in education and training of staff and serves as a resource person. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

Provides documentation.Participates in report.Draws arterial or capillary blood sample from patient and performs blood gas analysis.

Implements respiratory therapy protocols.Performs breath alcohol testing.Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Using his / her knowledge of the principles of growth and development and related needs, communicates and intervenes in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient served which includes : Birth-28 days : Neonate1-18 Months : Infant18 Mo-3 Yrs : Toddler3-6 Yrs : Pre-School Aged6-12 Yrs : School-Aged12-18 Yrs : Adolescents18-65 Yrs : Adults65+ Yrs : GeriatricsHours / Schedule : Full Time3rd ShiftMinimum Qualifications : Associate’s Degree : Respiratory Therapy.

Current Iowa License upon hire. Registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire or within 90 days with having Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.

BLS; ACLS; PALS; NRP if working in NICU. Certified Breath Alcohol Technician at Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Mandatory Reporter.

High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work with diverse groups of people;
