We are seeking an Asset Manager to safeguard the financial and physical health of a 1,200-unit portfolio of affordable housing and commercial real estate. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, this role is critical to ensuring long-term financial stability, operational efficiency, and sustainability across the portfolio.

Asset Manager Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement an annual asset management plan to maintain financial and operational goals.
  • Review monthly financials, property conditions, and compliance reports to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects, energy initiatives, and sustainability efforts.
  • Manage commercial leasing and evaluate property management contracts.
  • Lead monthly performance reviews with management companies and collaborate with internal teams on cash flow, refinancing, and compliance.
  • Prepare portfolio performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Mentor and support staff development, ensuring accountability and growth.

Asset Manager Qualifications :

  • 5–7 years of experience in asset management, property management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of real estate finance, LIHTC, and affordable housing programs.
  • Excellent financial analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal agreements and financial projections.
  • Commitment to racial equity, inclusion, and community development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and database tools.
  • Preferred : Experience with both residential and commercial properties.
  • Preferred : CHAM certification, or a Master’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field.
  • Preferred : Conversational Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.
