Description
We are hiring a 1st Shift Order Management Clerk to work out of our Melrose Park, IL facility.
Responsibilities :
- Call LTL, FTL, and Flatbed carriers to schedule shipments, meeting ship dates
- Monitor and record all trucks entering and leaving shipping area. Scale in and out all trucks, ensuring the weight is in line with the bills of lading and packing slips
- Maintain communication with logistics and purchasing departments regarding any shipping delays or possible retention charges
- Communicate with Logistics Manager related to any concerning discrepancies in weights and scaling in / out trucks
- Report any unsafe or suspicious activities to Logistics Manager
- Maintain communication with Customer Service and Logistics department regarding shipping dates and status of orders. Prepare ship schedule report daily
Qualifications
- Good understanding of shipping and receiving processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient computer skills (email, internet, MS Excel)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Fluent both in English and Spanish
- High level of integrity and reliability
- Ability to work alone with little supervision
