Job Summary :
The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on construction projects to ensure the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Oversight : Manage day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, including coordination with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Safety Management : Enforce site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Lead daily safety meetings and ensure all personnel are trained in safety procedures.
- Schedule Management : Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met. Track progress and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Quality Control : Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures if needed.
- Subcontractor Coordination : Oversee and coordinate the work of all subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
- Cost Control : Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring and controlling project expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality work.
- Problem-Solving : Address and resolve issues that arise during construction, from design discrepancies to field conflicts.
- Communication : Maintain clear and regular communication with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, potential risks, and solutions.
- Documentation : Ensure proper documentation of daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and other key project documents.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, preferably in commercial or residential construction.
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications : OSHA 30 certification is required. First Aid / CPR certification is a plus.
- Leadership : Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage field teams and subcontractors effectively.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving : Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to handle job-site challenges efficiently.
- Attention to Detail : High attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
