Job Summary :
The Voyagers General Manager will manage the daily operation of the Great Falls Voyagers baseball team and business operations.
This position will oversee everything from travel, sales, staffing, and scheduling. The GM must have excellent communication skills as they will work as a key leader at our larger company, regularly working with the organization’s President, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Field Manager.
This position is not a 9-5; previous baseball or similar experience is required. You will be the leader and face of the Great Falls Voyagers!
Duties & Responsibilities
The Voyagers General Manager will receive support from the full-time, seasonal staff, sales manager, and all Voyagers hourly staff and collaborate with the President, Operations, and Promotion Teams.
Specific responsibilities include :
- Oversee and be responsible for the execution of all stadium events
- Hire, train, and oversee all Voyagers staff
- Confirm staffing levels are appropriately scheduled for events
- Supervise 100+ sponsorship & season ticket holder accounts
- Work with Sales and Marketing for promotions and sponsorship fulfillment
- Oversee and manage the ticketing system, sales, and delivery
- Manage finances and ensure annual budget targets are hit
- Work with the President and Field Manager on player transactions
- Work with Field Manager to ensure travel, hotel, and all player relations are handled (i.e., bussing, arrival times, airport pickups, etc.)
- Be the face of the team for media interviews and community events
- Foster a positive culture amongst staff, team, and community
- Engage regularly with patrons during games and events
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
- At least three years of experience in a sports management position or related field
- Excellent communication skills
- Competent financial know-how to understand and implement basic accounting principals
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- This position requires a nontraditional schedule of workdays, some after-hours, and some weekend hours as required
