Product Teams at Target are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product.

You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product.

You will lead a product and work in unison with engineers, data scientists and business partners to deliver the product.

You will be the voice of the product to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful.

You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction.

You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

Enterprise API Gateway Services plays a significant role in enabling business functionality with an API-first approach for all Target developers in Digital and B2B platforms and other key functions such as supply chain and merchandising.

Our Gateway Services product provides centrally managed capabilities for developers to meet operational and security requirements.

The capabilities include Internal / external / secure API Gateway, API Catalog, Service Mesh, Content Delivery Network (CDN), and API Synthetic testing tool.

As a Senior Product Manager for Gateway Services, you’ll take the lead as you

  • Create and drive API management platform product strategy including determining business needs and market trends. Maintain the product roadmap and prioritize features to deliver maximum value.
  • Drive and integrate broader developer experience (through a centralized platform)
  • Drive requirements for API compliance and validation
  • Guide API management best practice and governance
  • Define objectives and key results (OKRs) for Gateway services. Monitor and analyze product performance and user satisfaction.

Make data driven decisions to drive value and optimize products.

  • Define the cohesive voice of customers to the engineering team
  • Promote new product capabilities for better value leverage and faster customer adoption
  • Represent Gateway services team to extended stakeholders on product value proposition
  • Facilitate external relationships with B2B partners and streamline their experience

About you :

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of platform product management experience or equivalent domain experience, preferably managing APIs / Gateways
  • Experience with RESTful and OpenAPI
  • Advanced knowledge with microservices architecture, RESTful, OpenAPI, and platform engineering
  • Proficient with API related protocols and technologies including gRPC and websockets
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Ability to lead a body of work with cross-functional partners
  • Strong communication skills

This position will operate as a Hybrid / Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid / Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.

Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
