You : You are a public relations professional and natural communicator with a track record of success positioning meaningful stories across a variety of channels for clients.
As part of our team, you will develop, execute, and optimize public relations strategies that earn media placements and help clients achieve their overall business goals.
You understand the importance of earned, paid, and owned content and while you may have only worked with earned and owned thus far, you are a fast learner and curious to expand your knowledge into the paid media space as well.
You are an excellent copywriter who is just as comfortable writing a winning pitch as ghostwriting an article for a client.
You know what’s newsworthy and what isn’t, and you thrive on finding creative ways to transform clients’ brand awareness needs and technical information into educational, compelling content.

Job Responsibilities
- Writing and editorial pitching to publications and news outlets, including outreach / follow-up by phone, email, and social media
- Press release planning, writing, review, setup, and distribution coordination via the wire and CRM tool
- Building, maintaining, and managing media contacts and relationships
- Providing PR support for trade shows and events, including coordination with local or on-site members of the media
- Identifying and securing speaking and award opportunities for clients and the company
- Organizing promotional events such as press tours and press conferences
- Supporting with the creation of client PR plans, including tactics, budgets, and timelines
- Implementing PR plans effectively, including ongoing results reporting
- PR support for M&A activities as well as crisis communication plans
- Analyzing client media coverage and providing appropriate reports and optimization recommendations
- Tracking earned opportunities to ensure client awareness and facilitate participation
- Assessing trends for each client and reporting on these trends monthly
- In-depth knowledge of PR / media best practices, including AP style
- Providing paid media support as needed, including plan development, ad placement review, ad analytics follow-up, etc.
- Copywriting and proofing support for PR / media team as well as copy team
- Occasional travel required
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in PR
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, advertising, or similar
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an analytical mindset
- Superior customer relationship management skills
- In-depth knowledge of PR / media best practices, including AP style
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) Muck Rack or other PR monitoring software
- Working knowledge of HubSpot or another CRM tool
- Press release coordination experience via the wire
- Agency experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- M&A experience
