Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Overview

We're looking for someone with strong technical ability, attention to detail, and solid hands-on skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a variety of machines and tools while strictly adhering to safety protocols. In this role, you'll use diagnostic equipment and your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment in the landfill.

Compensation : $25 - $30 hourly

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Immediately report any discrepancies to the Fleet Manager.
• Ensures compliance with all equipment requirements and regulations.
• Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conducts safety checks on equipment.
• Completes required paperwork using the fleet maintenance software program, documenting parts usage and repair times.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Communication : Effectively communicate to explain issues to customers and collaborate with team members.
• Problem-Solving : Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.
