As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer , your primary responsibilities are reactive, urgent, line down support and issue resolution along with proactive process improvements to be conducted at external manufacturing partners.

You will be the day-to-day engineering support to projects related to tier 1 Finished Goods (FG) products manufactured at external Contract Manufacturing sites.

In this role, you will interact with different internal and external stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and projects, driving engineering and quality value stream excellence programs at Contract Manufacturing / Original Equipment Manufacturer (CM / OEM) suppliers.

You will have a global view and will engage with multi-disciplinary teams to support specific initiatives and programs throughout multiple time zones and locations.

This role requires +25% travel to critical and strategic CM / OEM suppliers to support on-site work.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate standout leadership behaviors and will have an expert understanding of a variety of manufacturing technologies and processes, with a demonstrated track record of driving tangible process improvements, leading teams, and using structured problem solving.

The ideal candidate is also an expert in understanding process improvement techniques such as Business Process Management, Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Lean manufacturing, PDCA, 6-sigma, etc.

In this role, you will work independently yet collaboratively, with the ability to coach, mentor and review junior and senior level peer work, understand multiple issues and specialties, communicate expertly with internal and external partners, and manage projects of major / moderate complexity.

As the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you will :

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Must Have : Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed manufacturing organization managing multiple priorities, often under deadline.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening) with all levels of the organization.
  • Enthusiasm towards process improvements and change management
  • 3-5 years experience in process validation
  • Program Management experience
  • Experience working with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve complex goals
  • Ability to travel within the New England region to visit external manufacturing partners

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $97,600 - $146,400. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification / education, market conditions, and location.

Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
