Summary :
Lead operations in achieving the objectives as it relates to the physical processing of corn into value-added commodities.
In conjunction with the Leadership Team, develop a strategic plan for the department that aligns with the goals of the company.
Keep CEO, CFO, and Director of Commodities apprised of plant operations and their impact on daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
As a member of the Leadership Team, collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with fellow team members to the betterment of the company.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Exemplify core values (Curious grower, Optimistically honest, Hardworking, Organized).
- Develop processes, policies, and programs that provide results enabling the company to achieve upper quartile performance of our peer group.
- Develop, procure, and utilize tools to facilitate data-driven decision making.
- Lead, direct, and coach the plant manager, innovation manager, engineering manager, and safety manager.
- In collaboration with the plant manager, optimize team structure, define roles / responsibilities, and create a culture of accountability.
Assist with the evaluation of ingredients, new processes, and existing procedures.
- Provide initial review, feedback, and direction to initiatives and opportunities brought forward from the innovation manager.
- Support and guide the safety manager to maintain and enhance our safety first mindset.
- Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with the engineering manager to provide the company with the best return on capital and advancement towards company objectives.
- Critically review performance against planned expectations. Adjust and adapt as needed. Regularly report findings to the CEO and, as requested, the board of directors.
- Participate in Leadership Team meetings, board meetings, and company planning functions.
