Duties include : assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care;
administer and / or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Job Duties / Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors.
Direct milieu management. Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status. Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply / utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
