Clinical Nursing Supervisor
Work under the general nursing process while using independent judgment to assign nurses, technicians, and nursing care to assigned patients.
Designate shift and schedule assignments, call in staff, and monitor attendance. Provide clinical leadership for nursing and technician staff.
Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities also include participating in nursing strategic initiatives, supporting shared governance, and delivering safe direct care to an assigned group of patients.
Detailed responsibilities :
- Supervise and direct staff providing patient care, and accountable for care provided on assigned shift
- Act as liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other departments
- Develop efficient organizational structure and encourage staff teamwork
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, assist with special tests and procedures, and administer medication
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols, and identify / report / correct environmental conditions and situations that may put a patient at undue risk
Qualifications :
- Education : Program Graduate (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred)
- Experience : 2 years directly related experience
- Credentials : CPR for Healthcare / BLS, RN in NM, and nationally certified in area of specialty (preferred)
- Physical Conditions : Heavy Work
- Working conditions : Subject to an annual contract and performance appraisal
