Responsibilities
- Provide substance use disorder assessments and treatment / continuing care plans the first day of a resident's arrival into the program
- Coordinate individual substance use disorder treatment plans with the resident, Program Manager, and Case Managers
- Facilitate substance use disorder treatment groups using the designated evidence-based curricula
- Provide individual substance use disorder counseling sessions for one hour weekly
- Update treatment and continuing care plans and ASAM level of care weekly and send to Clinical Supervisor for signatures
- Develop Relapse Prevention plans with clients
- Coordinate after care services for transitioning residents
- Develop Continuing Care Plans with clients and update weekly
- Keep substance use portion of client files up to date in accordance with DHS 75 certification requirements
- Work collaboratively with other substance use disorder treatment agencies and provide referrals to community providers
- Act as consultant for substance use related crises
- Provide weekly client updates related to substance use for staffing notes, and prepare substance use section of discharge reports
- Prepare weekly updates for the Clinical Supervisor
- Meet with the Medical Director monthly
- Supervise urinalysis and breathalyzer testing
- Participate in scheduled client staffings and team meetings weekly
- Monitor and supervise residents
- Gather evaluation data, as assigned
- Work assigned shifts to meet the needs of resident and the agency
- Serve as on-call staff
- Participate in required clinical supervision and training necessary to maintain certification as a substance abuse counselor or substance abuse counselor-in-training
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise provision of any substance use disorder treatment component by other staff.Supervise any assigned substance abuse intern or volunteer under the direction of the Program ManagerKnowledge of substance use disorder treatment, gender responsive programming, ability to engage clients, knowledge of motivational interviewing, ASAM, DSM-5-TR, knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy, and ability to maintain a safe, stable residential treatment environment, and implement principles of trauma-informed care.At least one year of experience providing services to offenders.MSW or related advanced degree preferred. ARC will consider a BA in Social Work, or a related degree, with work experience and knowledge.Certification as a substance abuse counselor or substance abuse counselor-in-trainingQualifications
