Registered Nurse (RN) - Internal Traveler Program/Inpatient Solid Organ Transplant Acute Care

• The Internal Traveler Program is an opportunity to explore the boundless possibilities for nurses at UVA Health. Internal Traveler positions are :
• Non benefitted position
• compensated competitively with other traveler positions; hourly flat rate no differentials or incentive pay
• available in a wide variety of clinical practice opportunities, and
• are offered in 13 week blocks, which may be renewed up to a maximum of 39 weeks.
• One time $2,500.00 incentive pay with first 13 week assignment.

Position Compensation Range : Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience : Minimum of one year RN experience.

Licensure : Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Post transplant care skills Preferred

If no post transplant skills, must have complex medical surgical skills

Progressive care skills and experience

Complex hazardous IV and medication administration

Post surgical care skills and experience

Surgical wound and drain care and management

Patient education experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending / stooping / traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills;

Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift / push / pull >

100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood / body fluids and infectious disease.
