Crossroads Café Barista
The Barista is the director of a fabulous experience for Café customers, providing a warm, welcoming experience, a superlative beverage and food experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities :

Duties / Responsibilities :
Contributes to the departmental and property monthly goals for guest satisfaction scores by doing the job right the first time and giving exemplary service that goes above and beyond guest expectations.
This is Job One for all team members.
Greets customers with a warm and friendly tone, using their names whenever possible. Becomes familiar with frequent customers in the Seven Rooms CRM system.
Familiarizes themself with Hilton Honors Elite Members from the appropriate report, recognizing their status when possible and making sure they are aware of the My Way $10 F&B Credit.
Takes personal responsibility to rectify guest complaints to their satisfaction. Listen actively to the guest’s complaint or concern, tell them what you are going to do, and then follow through, entering the issue in Quore and taking personal responsibility to ensure the guest is satisfied with the outcome.
Never let a guest leave unhappy.
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers, describing product details to them, promoting our coffee supplier, explaining the menu to them, helping them to enjoy their experiences, broaden their horizons, and introducing them to new products as well as answering questions.
- Makes and sells specialty espresso drinks, coffees, teas, and smoothies, correctly customizing orders as requested following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
- Serves prepared foods and baked goods including artisan breakfast sandwiches, donuts, muffins and other baked goods at breakfast, and sandwiches, soup, and salads at lunch.
- Cross promotes the Red House Tavern for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, and The Shop to all guests.
- Generates additional revenue by attracting new customers and defining new and expanded services and products.
- Becomes familiar with all equipment by reading manuals.
- Maintains brewing equipment, espresso machines, grinders, utensils and accessories. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and notifying supervisor when repairs are necessary.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, and baked items.
- Receives and processes customer payments.
- Ensures customer service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas.
- Cleans and sanitizes service and seating areas.
- Ensures proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating by routinely checking temperatures in that equipment .
- Stocks supplies or retail products ; m ay inventory, order, or receive products as directed.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the Café and Hotel.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications, enhancing personal networks.
Promotes innovative ideas to Café and Hotel Leadership.
- Identifies leads for sales by surfacing information on guests’ companies and reasons to visit and communicate them to Sales using the specified method.
- Makes safety and security a top priority. Is completely trained in competent in all emergency procedures and be ready to take charge in an emergency.
Is constantly aware of potential security threats and models If You See Something, Say Something by notifying the Manager on Duty or any other Manager.
Follows property OSHA / HAZCOM procedures.
- Maintains regular attendance in compliance with the hotel’s standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Wears appropriate brand required uniform and name tag during all scheduled shifts.
- Performs all other duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
- Good memory to manage multiple orders simultaneously and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons.
- Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly.
Education and Experience :
Must successfully complete training in food and beverage preparation, food and beverage service skills, and customer service procedures.
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
