Andrews & Cole is currently partnering with a growing multifamily real estate company in Woodland Hills that is looking for a full-time, direct-hire Senior Accountant.

The role will be hybrid and will report to the CFO.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of a portfolio of multifamily properties.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of property accounting principles.

The ideal candidate will have a mix of public accounting and real estate industry experience and a proven track record of managing complex financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
  • Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for property acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience, with a focus on multifamily properties.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
