Job Description
The Communications Coordinator plays a key role within the Marketing department, supporting both internal and external communications to ensure clear, consistent, and brand-aligned messaging. This role is responsible for crafting engaging content across a variety of channels that informs employees, supports organizational initiatives, and enhances the overall member experience.
As part of the Marketing team, the Communications Coordinator will focus on copy development, content planning, and communication execution-working closely with colleagues across departments to maintain alignment in voice, tone, and messaging.
Key Responsibilities :
External Communications
- Draft and distribute press releases, service announcements, and member-facing email campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging with brand standards and strategic initiatives
- Maintain and update media lists; support media outreach and monitor coverage as needed
- Contribute to messaging for social media, website content, and other public-facing materials in coordination with the broader Marketing team
- Track communication performance metrics and use insights to refine messaging and improve reach
Internal Communications
Write, edit, and distribute employee-facing communications, including staff updates, executive announcements, and newslettersCoordinate with HR to support internal messaging related to organizational culture, employee initiatives, and eventsMonitor and maintain the Marketing intranet, ensuring content is current, relevant, and aligned with internal communications strategyDevelop messaging for internal campaigns and collaborate with Marketing team members on creative assetsEnsure consistent voice and tone across all internal channels, aligning communications with organizational goalsContent Management & Brand Alignment
Write, review, and edit content across communication materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistencyMaintain style, tone, and branding consistency across all internal and external contentAssist with the development of print and digital collateral to support communication initiativesPartner with the Marketing team to align communication strategies with visual design and campaign goalsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field1-3 years of experience in a communications-focused role, preferably within a marketing or corporate environmentExcellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detailExperience with internal and external communications across multiple platformsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlinesSkilled in tailoring messaging for diverse audiencesFamiliarity with content management systems and email platformsCollaborative, organized, and able to work cross-functionallyRockland Federal Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
