- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced MedSurg / Tele / Oncology nurse for a travel contract.

Job Requirements
- Must have an active BLS, ACLS and CA License.
- Prefer nurses who have Cerner experience.
- Must have strong central line experience.
- Compassionate care.
- Must like teaching and spending time with their patients.
Schedule Information
- Shifts : 7a, 7p.
- Weekend Requirement : One weekend shift every two weeks.
- Holidays : 2 majors and a minor.
- No call requirements.
Unit Specific Information
Unit : MedSurg / Oncology.
beds : 27.
- Ratios : 1 to 5 if med surg, 1 to 4 if chemo / tele patient.
- EMR : Cerner.
- Charge Nurse : Nurse Shift Managers do not take patient assignments, staff a resource nurse to help with tasks and breaks etc.
- Nurse Aides : Target is 2 per shift.
- Scrub Color : Navy.
- Tele : Remote tele with monitor techs.
- Vents : None.
- Hospitalist : In house 24 / 7.
- IV Team : No IV team but have resource nurse that can help; have team for PICC and midlines.
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes.
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes.
- Floor-specific orientation : One shift Cerner if needed and 2 shifts on units.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Majority of patients are med surg, 7 of rooms are private oncology suites.
Additional Details
- ACLS, BLS required.
- CERNER REQUIRED .
- No acute strokes or acute cardiac.
- No drips.
- Can take patients over age 15.
- General medical surgical, GYN, appy, chole, some spine cases, some joints.
