About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapist Job Specialty : Rehabilitation Therapy - Physical Therapist Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Active Alaska Physical Therapist License Certifications : Basic Life Support certification Must-Have : COVID-19 vaccinations including 1 booster and flu vaccination Job Description : Provide physical therapy evaluations and treatments focusing on improving patients' functional abilities.
- Assess, evaluate, and establish a plan of care and therapeutic interventions for a wide range of ages and diagnoses.- Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans based on patient response to optimize outcomes.
- Review clinical records and case histories; attend care conferences and team meetings.- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure appropriate medical equipment and discharge plans.
- Document patient encounters in accordance with policy standards.- Work with inpatient and outpatient populations across various settings.
- Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns as needed.- Develop and conduct patient education and therapy programs.
- Provide clear home exercise programs and ensure understanding through feedback and return demonstrations.- Assist in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty / research areas.
- Utilize hospital computer systems for patient information and communication.- Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in-service training as required.
- Remain current in therapy procedures and participate in continuing education.- Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Maintain cleanliness of clinical space and manage supply stocks.- Educate staff, patients, and families on therapeutic exercises and equipment.
- Ensure sensitivity to cultural issues and confidentiality standards.This position may require occasional travel to provide services in diverse settings and participate in community health projects.
