Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Medical-Surgical Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights, weekends as needed, first to float Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Current state licensure Certifications : AHA BLS Must-Have : - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)- Ability to titrate insulin and heparin drips- Preferred ability to read tele strips Job Description : - Provide care for general medical patients, including those with sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and CHF.
- Participate as part of a regional float pool; may be required to float to other hospitals in the region.- Work with nurse aides, maintaining a 1 CNA to 10-12 patient ratio.
- Utilize CPAP and established BiPAP equipment.- Adhere to assigned shifts with weekend and holiday requirements as necessary.
- Comply with policy, which allows the hospital to cancel up to three times per contract.- Use Epic for charting.- Follow the dress code by wearing professional-colored scrubs;
scrubs provided by the unit.- Participate in unit / department-specific orientation.- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4-5.
- Use remote tele-monitoring services from a centralized location; ability to contact via vocera.This role requires flexibility and adaptability as you will be the first to float to different locations within the region.
