gpac, a 30+ year recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the medical device industry. We are currently seeking a talented Director of Business Development to join our client's team.
They are looking for a Director of Business Development to drive sales growth and expand market presence within their full service medical device contract manufacturing division, as well as the orthopedic space.
This person will be focused on delivering value to medical OEMs with Single Use Medical Devices. This remote position will require some travel.
Director of Business Development Responsibilities :
- Provide primary business development leadership for the company's strategic initiative, including building strategic relationships with OEMs and inventors to feed the company's pipeline of medical devices.
- Assist the company VP of Operations in the development and implementation of the Go To Market plan (GTM) to achieve company objectives and revenue targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and networking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate and build positive relationships with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality assurance, to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs.
- Lead contract negotiation and pricing discussions to secure profitable business agreements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory requirements to inform sales strategies and decision-making.
- Prepare and present new business sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to senior management.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our capabilities and brand.
- Weekly participation in a business development drumbeat meeting, interacting with the VP of Operations and VP of Business Development on progress in GTM implementation, with key target markets / customers, sales pipeline, and customer interactions.
- Supports GTM plan objectives and collaborates with Engineering and Operations for value-added project implementation.
- Identify short and long-term sales opportunities to create dialogue and commentary around the Company’s products, services, innovation, and related aspects.
- Uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and predict customer needs.
- Assists VP of Operations in developing the annual budget as it relates to revenue and margin tied to new sales opportunities.
- Develops strategic sales plans based on the company goals that will promote new business sales growth and customer satisfaction, while identifying potential new markets.
- Identifies and develops strategic partnerships.
- Consistently searches for new business opportunities and recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
- Monitors customer, market, and competitor activity and provides feedback to company executive team and other company functions, makes recommendations for changes to products or services based on customer feedback and requests.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Director of Business Development Essential Job Functions :
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of business development experience in the medical device industry
- Strong understanding of medical device manufacturing processes, regulations, and market dynamics
- Proven track record of success in sales and business development
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient in strategic planning, negotiation, and decision-making
- Ability to create and execute new business strategies to achieve successful outcomes
- Willingness to travel as needed
