Job Description : Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location : St. Louis, MO 63136
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 32-40 hours per week, scheduled day shifts (8-hour shifts)
Job Overview :
This position is for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in a long-term care facility. The PTA will collaborate closely with a Physical Therapist to help patients improve their mobility, strength, and overall physical health.
The role involves implementing treatment plans, assisting patients with exercises, and helping with mobility and recovery tasks.
Responsibilities :
- Implement components of patient care plans designed by the Physical Therapist, focusing on exercises, balance training, and mobility improvement.
- Work closely with the Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed and ensure effective care for patients.
- Help patients perform exercises, stretch specific muscle groups, and safely move from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas.
- Communicate with patients' families to recommend at-home techniques and strategies for continuing therapy.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and maintaining an organized therapy area.
Requirements : Experience :
Experience :
- Minimum of 1 year of PT experience.
- Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings.
Licensure :
- Active PTA license.
