Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure accuracy in handling changes, providing receipts, and maintaining high guest service.
- Respond to guest questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training associates in company policies and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
- Provide recognition and feedback to associates and document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
- Schedule associates to meet guidelines, supervise staffing to maintain guest service, and ensure adherence to scheduling requirements.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative tasks.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize stock to ensure items are represented and accessible.
- Balance daily transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash and deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, record variances, and conduct inventories.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per guidelines.
- Keep store records / files organized and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager's absence.
- Adhere to all company policies, the Associate Handbook, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills & Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance.Clear verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team.Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of handling duties with good judgment.Ability to stand and move for extended periods; physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related tasks.Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days / week).Benefits
