Extrusion Experience Needed

The Quality Manager will oversee development of the Quality Plan ensuring customer expectations are met, train every employee in the quality requirements of his / her job and the Tools of Quality, provide staff support to plant supervision in day-to-day quality issues, and monitor the Quality System to assure total compliance with the Quality Plan.

Responsibilities

Develops and administers the Quality Plan (system) for the plant. Updates quality manual and procedures

manual as appropriate. Assures quality system meets or exceeds the expectations of all customers.

  • Assure all plant employees are trained in the quality requirements of their job and the Quality Plan. Monitor the appropriate training and development of quality technicians.
  • Actively participates in planning or improvement teams as appropriate : APQP, PBL, SQAC, Six Sigma, Corporate Quality Council, etc.
  • Lead internal audits as defined in the Quality Plan. Develop and follow through with verified, corrective actions for all non-conformances found.

Ensure quality compliance at the plant through monitoring and periodic audits.

  • Recommend and assist in implementing improvements as appropriate.
  • Maintains the inspection system as described in the Quality Plan. This encompasses such functions as approval

of incoming material, product testing in the lab, in-process inspection, gage control, and machine capability.

  • Oversees corrective actions taken to assure compliance is maintained to the system.
  • Resolves external and internal customer complaints in concert with customers, suppliers and appropriate

personnel in a timely manner.

Maintain complete and accurate customer and part quality files. Ensure that all customer quality systems

requirements are being followed.

Actively supports and manages within mission, vision, Code of Conduct and Process Based

Leadership guidelines.

  • Actively supports our 5S + Safety programs.
  • Ability to travel to support customer base as needed.
  • Strong presentation skills. Ability to tailor messaging for the audience.
  • Strong, impactful floor presence. Utilizes Gemba Walks as a tool to inspect what’s expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
  • 7-10 years directly related experience in a manufacturing environment. Automotive supplier

manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Extrusion Process experience needed
  • Prior Quality management experience required
  • Certified Quality Engineer / Manager preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of IATF16949 system requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools
  • Strong commitment to a team environment
