This position requires a good understanding of self-help groups and recovery process form alcohol or drug addiction.STATUS : Full TimeLOCATION : Evelyn Brandon Health CenterDEPARTMENT : Chemical DependencySCHEDULE : Days (8 : 00AM-4 : 30PM)ATTRIBUTES1-3 years of work experience as a certified or provisionally certified peer advocate in chemical dependency preferredRecovery Peer Advocate Certification requiredActive NYS license requiredRESPONSIBILITIESProvides support and guidance to patients who are receiving addiction services.
Interacts with the clinical staff in a professional manner.Documents in the medical record in a timely manner, the services provided.
Utilizes supervision and is able to receive feedback and take direction.Maintains credential in good standing and attends OASAS trainings to further develop skill as recovery coach.
Recruits and supervises volunteers and provides training.Comfortability transporting patientsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE : $17.
