Essential functions (job duties) :
The Department of Biological Sciencesat Wayne State University ( is searching tofill a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the areasof Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology with an expected starting date ofAugust 16, 2024.
The Department is particularly interested in future leaderswho employ systems-based approaches to define molecular, genetic, andphysiological processes underlying biological function and disease states. Jobduties to include :
Conduct externally funded research to define molecular,genetic, and physiological processes underlying biological function and diseasestates in the areas of Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology.
Adopt and develop course offerings at the undergraduate andgraduate student level.
Participate in graduate and undergraduate research training.
Perform service at the departmental, college, and universitylevel.
Qualifications :
Applicantsmust have a degree, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding record ofresearch achievement with the promise to establish a vigorous, externallyfunded research program.
Candidates are expected to adopt and develop courseofferings at the undergraduate and graduate student level, participate ingraduate and undergraduate research training, and perform service at thedepartmental, college, and university level.
