What you can expect as a Sheet Metal Technician
- Daily opportunities for growth with basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures, reading blueprints, working from drawings, fastening systems, procedures and techniques.
- Possibility to supervise crews and assist in organizing manpower and setting priorities for projects.
Key responsibilities
Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, and cutting on airframe and related components.Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as required.Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.Communicate clearly in English (speaking, writing, reading).Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.Education and certifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Airframe and Powerplant License is preferred.Valid driver's license approved for airline travel and / or valid passport is ideal but not mandatory.Experience levels
Technician I : 0-2 years' experience with sheet metal.Technician II : 2-5 years' experience as a sheet metal technician on aircraft.Technician III : 5+ years' experience as a sheet metal technician on aircraft.Employment details
